Local Flood Risk
As the Ditch Authority since 1959, Coon Creek Watershed District (CCWD) maintains a 135-mile ditch system through central Anoka County to balance drainage and flooding with the goal of protecting property, public safety, and infrastructure. Coon Creek Staff keep a close eye on the weather forecast and the local landscape in order to stay ahead of any potential flood risks. CCWD coordinates with Public Works Staff at our partnering cities to facilitate a unified approach to flood risk management.
The following information is adapted for local conditions from the National Weather Service’s Spring Flood Outlook.

March 31, 2025
Recent precipitation has upgraded the spring flood threat from “below normal” to “normal”. While water levels across the District have increased, adequate water storage still exists.
